Print from Print Preview Mode
Problem
Do you ever want to preview a document before you print it?
To reproduce the problem
- Open a mail message.
- On the File menu, select Print Preview
Notice that none of the buttons at the top of the Print Preview window are labelled Print.
Analysis
There is not a single application that I can think of that does not provide a Print button in Print Preview mode—except Lotus Notes 6.5.2.
User Interface Guideline Violations
- Interface does not follow established conventions, that is, provide a way to directly print from Print Preview mode.
- Forcing the user to do more work than necessary.
- Forcing the user to deal with stupidity.
Conclusion
Lotus Notes sucks.
