Lotus Notes Sucks: Example 70

[Lotus Notes Sucks: Example 70]

Stupid Error Messages, Part 5

Problem

Lotus Notes never ceases to appall me. More stupid error messages:

Variant missing an object

I also received this message today:

Cannot remove NotesDocument when instantiated by NotesUIDocument

and

Object variable not set Invalid or nonexistent document No Archive Policies setup for this mail file.

Analysis

This is just too stupid to comment on. Well, maybe not.

The first message doesn't mean anything and the second is probably some sort of object-oriented problem. Does the secretary need to know about objects ("instantiated") to use Lotus Notes?

"No Archive Policies setup for this mailfile" is hilarious because "setup" is a noun. As a noun, the message doesn't make any grammatical sense. The pinhead who wrote this useless error message probably meant, "There are no archive policies set up for this mail file." You see, "setup" is a noun, while "set up" is a verb. Also, "mailfile" is two words.

Pathetic.

User Interface Guideline Violations

Conclusion

Lotus Notes sucks.
