Sending an Email Message
Problem
If I try to send a mail message with no name in the To box, I see this dialog box:
Analysis
If I can't send the mail message because some information has not been entered, then make the Send command unavailable!
User Interface Guideline Violations
- Interrupting the user's work flow with a dialog box that should never have a reason to appear.
- Interface does not follow established conventions because it allows the user to click on a command that isn't valid in the current context.
- Forcing the user to deal with stupidity.
Conclusion
Lotus Notes sucks.
